rkv
An encrypted key-value store built in Rust and Zig at the same time, which later pivoted to a distributed one and stalled.

- Rust (rkv) and Zig (zkv)
The same encrypted key-value store, module by module, in Rust and Zig at once: HashMap storage, a custom wire protocol, a TCP server and a CLI. The idea was to learn both languages by solving the same problems side by side. Rust won on ecosystem (module 3 took me 2 to 3 hours in Rust and 6 to 8 in Zig), and zkv stopped at module 3.
rkv got to module 4, an ugly but working mio event loop. Then I pivoted it to a distributed key-value store to work through the ideas in Designing Data-Intensive Applications, with encryption moved to nice-to-have. After that I got distracted by anchors (which is a whole other story) and it stalled.
